for sale to adopters. Subject to availability.
Arnica Blend & Skin Blend:
The Pet Connection offers the services of a certified herbalist on staff as well as hand blended herbal salves for animals and their owners. Julie Larson grows as many of the herbs she can herself to include harvesting and the skilled use of essential oils when she blends her salves. The herbs and oils used in Julie's salves are not harmful for the pets or owners if ingested since all animals will lick at the area where the condition exists. The Pet Connection offers two different salves for purchase at this time.
ARNICA BLEND:
This blend is organic Arnica flowers blended with olive
oil, local beeswax and Lavender essential oil. Arnica blend is best used for post operative incisions, bruising, pulled, sore, strained and sprained muscles. Arnica is specific for bruising as it disperses the blood so that it can be carried through the body as normal. Because of this Arnica is invaluable for many situations. Use Arnica when a dog has pulled its muscle or tendon in a back leg, which I have seen happen often, or after a spay/neuter surgery. Always be careful never to use Arnica salve on an open wound or cut. With a surgery site use the Arnica salve "around" the incision site, not directly on it. This applies to
people as well.
SKIN BLEND:
This blend is all natural Yarrow, Calendula, Self-Heal (when available), olive oil, shea butter, local beeswax and Lavender essential oil. This blend may be used on any cut, rash, open wound, sore or scratch. As with Arnica blend this salve is not harmful if ingested, however, ingestion is to be avoided as with any salve. Yarrow is specific to open wounds, cuts and sores as it heals from the inside out,
is an anti-viral, anti-fungal painkiller. Calendula is specific to the skin as an anti-viral, anti-fungal emollient there is none better. Self-Heal explains itself. This is a highly effective blend that no household should be without. Especially a household with children and animals. This blend is very effective for hot spots on animals as well.
